ESO New Life Festival Event

What is the New Life Festival?

The New Life Festival is a unique Elder Scrolls Online holiday event which got introduced in 2016. This is one of the few rare Events where you can activate a double XP buff and find unique loot and collectibles.

When is the New Life Festival active?

New Life Festival is usually returning each year mid December.

What do I need to participate?

To participate in the New Life Festival you don't need to own any Chapter, DLC or ESO Plus.

How can I start the New Life Festival?

To participate in the Event pick up the free New Life Festival quest starter for free in the Crown Store. Follow the quest instructions and then travel to Eastmarch and speak with Breda. For completeting the New Life Festival introduction quest you will be rewarded with Breda's Bottomless Mead Mug Memento.

During the Event you can also find portals at the Impresarios Tents which transport you to Eastmarch.

Where can I find Breda's Tent?

Breda's Tent is located north of the Kynesgrove Wayshrine in Eastmarch. Eastmarch is part of the base game.

How can I activate the 100% Experience Buff?

Since December 2023 the double xp buff is automatically applied. Which means the double experience will be all the time active during the event as a passive buff.

In the past you had to use Breda's Magnificent Mead Mug Memento which granted you and a two hour 100 % Experience buff.

What is special about the New Life Festival?

During the New Life Festival you will be able to earn New Life Festival Boxes. This Boxes are special reward containers with various unique event rewards. ESO adds each year new collectibles for the New Life Festival.

How can I earn New Life Festival Boxes?

Complete daily repeatable New Life Festival Quests for Breda and Petronius Galenus to obtain New Life Festival Boxes. You can complete 9 New Life Festival Quests for Breda and one New Life Festival Quest for Patronius Galenus.

You can complete 10 New Life Festival Quests per Character and day.

Which New Life Festival Quests does Breda offer?

The Castle Charm Challenge is a Breton tradition. You have to travel to Stormhaven and visit Alcaire Castle. There you have to perform in the Old Goat Inn, the Alcaire Marketplace and in the castle.
The Fish Boon Feast is an Argonian tradition. Travel to southern part of Shadowfen to the Percolating Mire Wayshrine. Here we have to catch some fishes at the marked new life fishing holes on your map. You can use any bait to catch these fishes. After you caught a Histmuck Blobfin, a Shadowfen Creeping Leech, and a Black Marsh Cucumber speak to Gentle Heart in Hissimir which will prepare the fishes.

You can also fish more fishes, so you are prepared for the next days. Also you can store the fishes in the Bank for the next year.
The Lava Foot Stomp is a Dunmer tradition. For this quest you have to travel to Stonefalls and dance in some taverns. In Davon's Watch you have to dance in the Watch house tavern and at the Fish Stink. Then you have to travel to Ebonheart and dance in the Ebony Flask and in town hall.
The Mud Ball Merriment is a Bosmer Tradition. Travel Skywatch in Auridon and throw 10 Mud Balls on NPC's or other players. Then go inside Skywatch Manor to the first room on the right side and throw Mud Balls on any of the three alliance ambassadors.
The Signal Fire Sprint is a Redguard tradition. Visit Bergama in the southern part of Alik'r Desert. Speak to Aubatha to start the quest. You must light now four signal fires in a limited time frame. The timer will start once you light the first fire and you can also do this quest in a group. Once you lit the fires within the time limit return to Aubatha.
The Snow Bear Plunge is a Nord tradition. To complete this quest you have to jump into freezing water at the highlighted spots on your map. First you have to go to the docks in the eastern part of Windhelm. Once you are there jump into the water. If you want to remove the freezing status effect go the the fire nearby and warm yourself up. For the second jump go to the bridge which leads into Windhelm. Jump of the bridge into the water and then warm yourself up at the fire. The third and final place is the Dead Man's Fall which is located west of Windhelm. Go to the top of the Waterfall and jump down.
The Stonetooth Bash is an Orc tradition. This quest will send you to the Stonetooth Fortress in Betnikh. Matron Borbuga asks you to collect Meat and Honey. You can obtain meat by killing for example Wolves, Mudcrabs or rabbits. Honey can be collected from Giant Wasps or Wasp nests. After you returned to Matron Borguba you have to eat and drink from the marked dishes and drinks and show your appreciation for the feast with a belch.
The Trial of Five-Clawed Guile is a Khajiit tradition. Travel to Rawl'kha in Reaper`s March and speak with Tumira. Unlock the three nearby locked chests and take the coins before the time runs out.
Ormurrel will offer you the War Orphan's Sojourn Quest which is an Altmer tradition. To complete this Quest visit the Temple of the Eight north west of Elden Root in Grathwood. You can complete this quest pretty quickly by donating a small amount of gold. Or you can also help with killing wildlife.

Which New Life Festival Quests does Petronius Galenus offer?

Petronius Galenus offers you each day the Old Life Observance Quest which is an Imperial tradition. For this quest you have to perfrom a ceremony at an Old Life Shrine. The location is random, and Petronius may send you to Auridon, Bangkoria, Glenumbra, Stonefalls, The Rift or Reaper's March.

Can you earn Event Tickets?

This year, you can earn during the New Life Festival 3 Event tickets per day per account. You will earn 3 Event Tickets for your first completed Daily repeatable New Life Festival quest.
